Park Chan Wook’s Decision To Leave has been majorly snubbed for the 2023 Oscar nominations leaving fans of the film outraged.
Directed, produced and co-written by Park Chan Wook, this year’s Korean entry to the 95th Academy Awards Best International Film category has failed to grab a nomination in any category. Decision To Leave has two nominations in the Baftas, however, in the Best Director and Best Films Not In English Language categories.
The mysterious love-lore of Chan Wook has already bagged him the Cannes Film Festival Best Director Award along with other national and international gongs.

Decision To Leave has been snubbed in the nominations for Oscars 2023. Critics and fans predicted the film would be nominated for Best International Feature Film, Best Editing (Kim Sang Beom), Best Director, and Best Actress (Tang Wei) categories.
The 2023 Oscars Best International Feature Film nominations went to Argentina 1985, All Quiet On The Western Front, Close, The Quiet Girl, and EO.
Fans shocked to see Decision To Leave snubbed
Park Chan Wook’s masterpiece Decision To Leave has been garnering attention from around the world for its brilliant screenplay, Hitchcock-esque treatment of obsession and love, unique editing, and Park Chan Wook’s distinct touch that keeps a viewer hooked dizzily until the end.
Writer and producer Pierce Conran tweeted: “Shocked not to see Decision To Leave nominated for Best International Film at the Academy Awards, a film that really should have been a contender in several categories. Awards momentum is a fickle beast.”
