Konyaspor are holding out for £4.5 million for Bosnia and Herzegovina international Amir Hadziahmetovic after Championship leaders Burnley launched a bid for the talented midfielder, according to Aksam.
With Ameen Al-Dakhil, Hjalmar Ekdal and £7 million centre-forward Lyle Foster arriving to reinforce Vincent Kompany’s league leaders, Burnley have the feeling of a runaway freight train storming towards the Premier League station.
There is already an 18-point gap between the Clarets and third-place Watford. And, if Kompany’s squad wasn’t fearsome enough already, Burnley could end the January window with no fewer than four fresh additions.

Al-Dakhil and Ekdal, a pair of central defenders, arrived over the weekend. KVC Westerlo forward Foster should be unveiled sooner rather than later too. Whether Hadziahmetovic also arrives before February 1st, meanwhile, could depend largely on how much funds Kompany has left at his disposal.
Burnley like Konyaspor and Bosnia playmaker Amir Hadziahmetovic
Burnley, per Hurriyet, have offered £3.5 million for Hadziahmetovic. Konyaspor want £4.5 million, however, plus 15 per cent of any future sale. A £1 million gap is certainly ‘bridgeable’. Though the initial £7 million signing of Foster is likely to eat up much of Kompany’s remaining January budget.
“Regarding Amir, we have received offers,” Konyaspor president Fatih Ozgokcen tells Basak. “Some of them are from abroad, some from (Turkish) Super League teams.
“We will not sell Amir to any club except for the interests of Konyaspor. We rejected all the offers. Since there is no offer for Amir at the price we have determined at the moment, his transfer is out of question.”
A clear message, then, to Burnley; either pay up, or give up. Talks between Konyaspor and Besiktas have already broken down. CEO Mustafa Goksu has, however, admitted that Burnley’s offer is superior to that of Besiktas.
“The numbers (from Besiktas) were not at the level we would accept. There is another offer from England. A more satisfactory offer,” says Goksu.
While a deep-lying midfielder by trade, Hadziahmetovic is averaging a goal or an assist almost every other game this season. In 23 matches, the Denmark-born ace has scored six times and set up a further four.
An excellent technician with a burst of pace, Hadziahmetovic loves to dictate the game from something of a quarter-back role. He can take a mean free-kick too. Then again, taking set-pieces away from Scott Twine – after his West Brom wondergoal on Friday – will be easier said than done.
