AFC Bournemouth are reportedly plotting a late bid to sign Villarreal attacker Nicolas Jackson, with the youngster also wanted by Aston Villa and Everton.
According to the Athletic, the Cherries are sensing an opportunity in the market to sign the Senegal winger after Premier League rivals Southampton having a bid rejected for the Villarreal star earlier this month, with the La Liga side demanding €20m (£17m) for their prized youngster.
Regarded as one of the best talents in all of Spain this season, Jackson has caught the eye of many in recent months for his impressive performances for Villarreal, with Michael Owen lauding the 21-year-old as ‘exceptional’ via BT Sport last season.
And as a result, Premier League interest has since been high in Jackson, with Tuttomercatoweb recently reporting that the youngster is wanted by the likes of Everton and former Villarreal manager Unai Emery at Villa, as the aforementioned Southampton.

Indeed, Bournemouth have already signed one top attacking prospect this January in Lorient wonderkid Dango Ouattara. Yet Gary O’Neil and new owner Bill Foley are seemingly eager to go one step further in adding to their attacking ranks with a move for Jackson.
And with Southampton recently having a bid rejected for the La Liga talent, Bournemouth could not have picked a better time in the market to make a move for the winger, with Villarreal likely to accept an offer for the Senegal international from the Cherries.
Bournemouth signing Jackson would be as impressive as Ouattara coup

Ouattara shined on his Premier League debut over the weekend, yet a good case can be made that Jackson would be an even more exciting signing for Bournemouth if the south coast side can beat the likes of Everton and Villa to the winger’s signature.
As mentioned, Jackson is viewed as one of La Liga’s biggest talents, and Bournemouth winning the race to sign the youngster would be a huge statement of intent from the Cherries, who could soon make a serious Premier League survival bid with the Senegal star.
