Arsenal are pushing to sign Ivan Fresneda but Chelsea’s move for Malo Gusto may leave Lyon to consider a last-gasp move for the Spaniard.

That’s according to reporter Sacha Tavolieri, who claims that Chelsea are pushing to land Gusto.

The current terms mean Gusto may sign for Chelsea now but spend the rest of the season back on loan at Lyon to continue his development.

Yet if Lyon end up allowing Gusto to join Chelsea right now, the man they want as a replacement is Real Valladolid star Fresneda.

It’s suggested that the French side may look to launch a last-gasp move for Fresneda, who has appeared close to joining Arsenal.

Once again, Chelsea’s transfer business is just becoming a nuisance for Arsenal.

The Blues signed Arsenal target Joao Felix earlier this month before pulling off a stunning hijack for top Gunners target Mykhailo Mudryk.

Arsenal aren’t involved in the Malo Gusto race but a move to Stamford Bridge could now lead to some unwanted attention for Frenseda.

Arsenal were closing in on Ivan Fresneda

The Athletic reported on Monday that Valladolid wonderkid Fresneda was deciding between a move to Arsenal or Dortmund.

Both teams have £13million offers on the table and the Daily Mail suggest that Dortmund think they’re leading the race.

Yet The Northern Echo claim that Arsenal are ‘on the verge’ of signing Fresneda.

They report the news from a Newcastle standpoint, as whilst the Magpies were keen, they claim that Arsenal were always at the front of the queue.

Their information is that Fresneda is heading for Arsenal, though the widespread belief is that he will head back to Valladolid on loan.

The right back is viewed as one for the future so Arsenal should have no problem agreeing to those terms.

Lyon’s interest is a potential problem but Arsenal should still be confident of signing the 18-year-old talent.
