The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Arsenal manager Mikel Artete has made the signing of Chiesa ‘the number one objective’ in the summer of 2023.
Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Liverpool are keen on the 25-year-old Italy international winger, and so are last season’s La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid.
Good signing for the Gunners?
In our view, Federico Chiesa would be a very good signing for Arsenal in the summer of 2023.
The Italian is one of the best wingers in Serie A and won the Euro 2020 finals with Italy.
Chiesa is 25 now and is at the right age to take the next step in his career and move to Arsenal.
Yes, Arsenal have just signed Leandro Trossard, but they will need more quality players in attack (and in other departments) next summer if they win the Premier League and/or qualify for the UEFA Champion League.
Chiesa can improve and develop further in the coming years, and Arsenal would be a better team with the £54,000-a-week (SalarySport) winger in it.
The winger, who has had injury problems, has made one start and five substitute appearances in Serie A for Juventus so far this season, providing two assists in the process.
The Italian has also played 16 minutes in the UEFA Champions League and has made one substitute appearance in the Coppa Italia so far this campaign.
