The Athletic have reported this morning that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is open to staying at the North London club and may not leave for Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in the summer of 2023.
The report has claimed that Kane is open to signing a new contract with Tottenham, and that talks between the Premier League club and the England international striker are planned once the January transfer window closes.
The £200,000-a-week striker (SalarySport) wants to win major trophies with Tottenham and is focused on on-pitch matters for now.
Now, of course, the conditions and circumstances will have to be right for both parties to agree on a new deal, but the striker is not pushing for an exit.
Harry Kane’s Tottenham Hotspur stance blow for Manchester United
This will be encouraging for Tottenham Hotspur fans, and a blow for Manchester United.

According to journalist Miguel Delaney’s Reading the Game newsletter in The Independent (1:31pm, January 20, 2023), Kane would be open to a move to United in the summer of 2023.
The Daily Mail reported over the weekend that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy could sell Kane in the summer of 2023 amid interest from Manchester United among other clubs.
The report claimed that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also keen on the 29-year-old, and that Tottenham will want at least £85 million in transfer fees for him.
However, based on the report in The Athletic this morning, it seems that Kane is not desperate to leave Spurs, and maybe, just maybe, one of the world’s best strikers will be at the North London club beyond the end of the season.
