In celebration of Lunar New Year, the design team for Miffy have created a new tote bag to welcome in the Year of the Rabbit.

Lunar New Year, often referred to as Chinese New Year, falls on Sunday, January 22. It welcomes in the Year of the Rabbit, the fourth animal that features in the zodiac and lunar calendar. The last Year of the Rabbit fell in 2011, and before that, 2012.

In keeping with this year’s sign, the Miffy team have created a special Year of the Rabbit bag design to celebrate Lunar New Year 2023. Miffy is a fictional rabbit created by Dutch artist Dick Bruna in 1955. Miffy’s original name in Dutch is “Nijntje,” a shortened version of the word konijntje, meaning “little rabbit.”
