Everton want to sign Hakim Ziyech as Frank Lampard seemingly seeks a favour from his old club Chelsea in the battle for survival.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Everton have now joined the race for the Moroccan playmaker.
It’s stated that Roma are watching Ziyech’s situation very closely as Jose Mourinho considers a move – possibly to replace Tottenham target Nicolo Zaniolo.
Everton allegedly want to take Ziyech on loan with a view to a permanent move if they manage to stay in the Premier League.
Whether Ziyech would be interested in a move to Goodison Park – and the subsequent relegation battle – remain to be seen.
Additionally, Chelsea may not even want to loan out Ziyech after he started against Liverpool on Saturday, but the Blues may need to trim numbers.
Hakim Ziyech surely won’t be signing for Everton
Everton need some creativity and you can’t blame Lampard for wondering if Chelsea will have anybody available after their signing spree.
Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke have arrived so many a winger like Ziyech will be available in the coming days.
However, it feels unlikely that Ziyech will end up at Goodison Park this month.
The 29-year-old surely isn’t thinking of joining a relegation battle right now and is bound to have offers from clubs who aren’t battling against the drop.
For instance, 90Min claim that Newcastle United are considering signing Ziyech.
Their report stated that Ziyech’s representatives have been contacting a number of clubs lately to gauge interest in the playmaker.
Newcastle allegedly seemed keen and could ramp up their interest in Ziyech before the end of the transfer window.
Lampard was in charge of Chelsea when they spent £33million on Ziyech in 2020 and seemingly wants a reunion, but Newcastle will surely be more appealing.
