According to the London Evening Standard, Arsenal are interested in a loan move for Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid.

The French midfielder has been seen as one of world football’s top prodigies for quite some time now, and now, he could be set for a temporary move to the Emirates.

Camavinga’s talent has been evident from a young age, but don’t just take our word for it.

Arsene Wenger was actually blown away by Camavinga the very first time he saw him, and he’s gone on the record to speak about just how impressed he was by the youngster the first time he laid eyes on him.

Wenger blown away by Camavinga

The Frenchman spoke on BeIN Sports about Camavinga (via Ligue 1’s official website).

“It was Strasbourg’s final home game last season, against Rennes,” Wenger said.

“We were taken aback by this very young player. After the game we were all saying the same thing: ‘Where’s he appeared from? Sign him up!’ – he dominated that match, he was head and shoulders above the rest, I was really impressed!”

Seal of approval

This is exactly what you want to hear if you’re an Arsenal fan.

Put it this way, if Arsene Wenger thinks you’re a special player, you must have something about you.

Wenger has seen it all in his footballing life, he’s managed some of the greatest players of all-time, and even then he was taken aback by Camavinga’s ability.

This is the ultimate seal of approval for a potential Arsenal transfer target, and the Gunners should be trying their absolute best to get a deal done here.
