Is Evan Ferguson related to Sir Alex Ferguson or Duncan Ferguson? Many have been wondering as the Brighton No.28 takes the Premier League by storm.
The 18-year-old has scored three goals in his first five Premier League appearances for the Seagulls, while also providing two assists as he takes to England’s top-flight like a duck to water.
His most recent goal – a stunning header against Leicester – was reminiscent of a certain Duncan Ferguson, which led many to ask if the Irishman is related to the Everton legend, or Sir Alex Ferguson.
So, Is Evan Ferguson related to Sir Alex Ferguson or Duncan Ferguson? Let’s take a look…
No, Evan Ferguson is not related to Sir Alex Ferguson
Well, it would make sense if Ferguson is related to Duncan Ferguson given the fact he is deadly in the air – just like the Scot was back in the day when the ball arrived in the box.
However, it seems that is all they have in common.

The Brighton wonderkid is not known to have any relation to Sir Alex Ferguson or Duncan Ferguson.
Both of them are Scottish, whereas Evan Ferguson was born in the Republic of Ireland, and while that could still mean they are related in some way, he does not appear to have any connections to either.
Evan Ferguson Dad
The Brighton striker’s father is Barry Ferguson, who was also a professional footballer.
Ferguson Senior made six appearances for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 side back in his playing days, while also appearing for Colchester, Hartlepool, Northampton and Shamrock Rovers among other sides.
Barry was sadly forced to retire in February 2009 due to a serious hip injury, although he has clearly passed his wisdom onto Evan, who is making quite the name for himself in the Premier League with Brighton.
