The Telegraph report that Arsenal-linked winger Kaoru Mitoma is ‘happy’ at Brighton & Hove Albion, and is not eyeing an exit.

As per a recent revelation by 90 Min, Mikel Arteta’s side were eyeing a swoop for the Japanese international.

But it seems as if Mitoma is happy at Brighton, and is not considering a switch to Arsenal anytime soon.

While glimpses of the £2.5 million (Sussex Live) attacker earlier this season indicated that he was a special player, regular starts under Roberto De Zerbi in particular have confirmed that he is indeed one hell of a talent.

The 25-year-old has been garnering praise from plenty of pundits this season.

Alan Shearer told the Premier League’s official website that Mitoma ‘terrified Liverpool’ recently, while Micah Richards labelled him as ‘sharp’ and admitted that he would ‘not like to’ come up against the Seagulls fan favourite.

Considering the Kanagawa-born star plays in a ball-dominant system, it would make sense for Mikel Arteta’s side to target him as a potential challenger for Gabriel Martinelli on the left wing.

However, it has been revealed that the player himself is content with life under De Zerbi.

According to a new report by the Telegraph, Kaoru Mitoma, who has been speculated with joining Arsenal is ‘happy’ at Brighton.

Furthermore, the fleet-footed wideman is in ‘no rush to leave’ the Amex Arena anytime soon.

Blow for Arsenal?

Well, the answer is not particularly.

Yes, Mitoma is one of the most in-form wingers in the Premier League and has the potential to reach unseen heights under Mikel Arteta.

However, the Gunners already have Gabriel Martinelli at their disposal, and Leandro Trossard seems to be edging closer to a switch to the Premier League leaders.

As a result, both Arsenal and Mitoma can feel happy regarding the transfer speculation, as things are rosy for both parties.
