Transfer expert Alex Crook has told TalkSPORT (Tuesday, 12.40PM) that Rangers talks over a move to take Todd Cantwell to Ibrox are “ongoing”, and that the playmaker’s preferred switch is to Rangers – over PSV Eindhoven.
Cantwell, 24, has struggled at Norwich since the Canaries were relegated. This season, he has played 19 times but has failed to score or assist. He looks a shadow of his former self in the top tier. His contract ends in June of this year.
Sky Sports reported earlier this week that Rangers were leading the race to sign Cantwell. That is, after positive talks between the parties involved. Rumours have emerged that PSV, who Rangers have faced this season, are also keen.
Now, Crook has told TalkSPORT in an update on Tuesday afternoon that Cantwell’s preference is a move to Rangers. That is, despite PSV becoming interested – which Crook alludes to. He says that Cantwell’s priority is an Ibrox deal.

“Quite possibly,” Crook said, when asked if Cantwell will join Rangers. “Beale is a big admirer of Cantwell. It is a massive club for him. Talks between the two clubs are ongoing, Rangers are his favoured destination despite murmurs of PSV”.
Crook: Cantwell preferred switch is Rangers over PSV Eindhoven
Rangers need a player like Cantwell. Malik Tillman has been superb, but the USA international is really the only kind of player that Rangers have that can do the job he does. Cantwell would change that, but offers versatility in attack, too.
Cantwell is naturally a left winger but instead of being a rapid player that looks to beat a full-back, he drifts inside and looks to create. He is more of a goalscorer than a player that creates goals, but can do that too. A real coup for Beale.
