West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice is open to a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, but Graham Potter’s Chelsea are interested in him, according to The Guardian.

Chelsea target Declan Rice open to Arsenal transfer

The report has claimed that Arsenal have made Rice their top target in the summer of 2023 and are willing to make the West Ham star their most expensive ever signing.

The England international, who can also operate as a defender, himself is open to a move to the Emirates Stadium and has been made aware of how Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta plans to use him.

Chelsea are interested in Rice as well, according to the report, which has added that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners will fight Arsenal for the 24-year-old.

The Gunners, though, are reportedly optimistic of getting a deal done fo Rice, described as “devastating” by former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel.

Could a 2023 summer transfer happen?

In our view, Arsenal could be able to sign Declan Rice ahead of Chelsea in the summer of 2023.

The Gunners are doing extremely well in the Premier League at the moment and could win the title this season.

A move to Arsenal from West Ham would be very tempting for the England international.

Yes, Chelsea are a big club as well, but Arsenal have a very young and dynamic team who are going places.
