Darren Bent has said on talkSPORT (5:54pm, January 16, 2023) that he would take Chelsea attacker Raheem Sterling at Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on a loan deal in the January transfer window.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker believes that Sterling, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, would be a good signing for Arsenal.
Bent is an Arsenal fan.
Sterling joined Chelsea from defending Premier League champions Manchester City in the summer of 2022.
The £325,000-a-week (Spotrac) England international has not had the best of times at Chelsea, who are struggling to even challenge for the Premier League top four at the moment.
Football Insider have reported that Chelsea are willing to listen to offers for Sterling after signing Mykhailo Mudryk.

Bent said: “I would take him on loan. I would take him on loan. 100%.”

Could a January transfer happen?
From Arsenal’s chase for Mykhailo Mudryk, we know that manager Mikel Arteta wants to sign a striker in the January transfer window.
There was speculation that Arsenal wanted to sign Sterling last summer before the former Liverpool player moved to Chelsea from Manchester City.
Yes, Sterling is not having a very good time at Chelsea at the moment, but we know how good the 28-year-old is, and we have no doubt that he would be able to make an impact at Arsenal.
However, it is hard to see Chelsea sanction a move for Sterling to Arsenal, who are also unlikely to match his current £325,000-a-week (Spotrac) salary at the Blues.
