CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has reported that Brighton & Hove Albion will demand in excess of £75 million to sell Liverpool target Moises Caicedo in January.
The Athletic had claimed that the Reds will be unable to afford the addition of the World Cup hero this month.
So, the fact that Liverpool will be asked to shell out as much as £75 million or more to sign Caicedo from Brighton does not seem doable.
Ultimately, this is a worrying update as the Reds’ midfield has been virtually non-existent this season.
As was evident in their latest 3-0 battering at the hands of Roberto De Zerbi’s side, barring Thiago, the rest of the club’s midfielders seem past their best or yet to fully develop into the best versions of themselves.
Keeping that in mind, Brighton are seemingly aware that a fee above £75 million is not only how highly they value Moises Caicedo, but how much of a key coup he would be for Liverpool.
As Jurgen Klopp’s side continue to regress in the ongoing campaign, another big blow has emerged as a result of this update.
Brighton will only consider selling Liverpool target Moises Caicedo in January for £75 million+ fee

CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has also mentioned that Chelsea are willing to pay in excess of £65 million to sign the Ecuadorian wonderkid.
In addition, Graham Potter’s side are ‘actively exploring’ the chance to sign the 21-year-old.
While the same seems to be the case with Liverpool when it comes to targeting Moises Caicedo, Brighton demanding them to potentially pay more than they did to sign Virgil van Dijk by paying in excess of £75 million must be a financial challenge for them.
With Chelsea not being shy of splashing the cash, only time will tell just how much the Reds aim to sign the sought-after midfielder.
