Club Brugge goalkeeper Senne Lammens has begun following Leeds United and Jesse Marsch on Instagram in what could be a sign of his impending switch to the Premier League outfit.
In an era where football supporters have taken to tracking private jets and guessing where Mykhaylo Mudryk gets his slippers, Lammens’ social media manouveures were never likely to go unnoticed for long.
Amid claims that the Belgium U21 international could become Leeds’ second January signing following Max Wober, the fact that Lammens is now following not only Marsch and Ilan Meslier but also the club’s official account on Instagram certainly didn’t pass under the nose of those ‘social media Sherlocks’.

According to HLN, the 20-year-old has turned down a new deal at Club Brugge. His current deal expires in the summer.
Talks with Leeds are now underway; the West Yorkshire outfit long-time admirers of a talented young shot-stopper who has not made a single appearance for Club Brugge in 2022/23 despite being a fixture in the matchday squad.
His hopes of first-team football at the Jan Breydel Stadium certainly haven’t been helped by the outstanding form of the evergreen Simon Mignolet; the former Liverpool glovesman playing some of the best football of his career at the age of 34.
Het Nieuwsblad believe that Club Brugge are already on the lookout for a replacement.
Unsurprisingly, given Leeds’ interest, Lammens is a goalkeeper with real quality in possession and impressing range of passing.
‘A complete, modern goalkeeper’
“Senne is a quiet guy,” explains former Brugge goalkeeping coach Frederic De Boever, now at Monaco (Het Laatste Nieuws). “He knows what work is.
“He is very proactive as a goalkeeper. Senne is perfectly two-footed. That is extremely important in a dominant team where, as a goalkeeper, you spend 60 per cent of the time with the ball at your feet.
“In addition, he is very dominant in small space. He reads everything well and can assess situations very well. He is strong on the line and has very good reactions, which makes him a complete, modern goalkeeper.”
Lammens is likely to provide support for regular number one Illan Meslier at Elland Road. Marsch also has the experienced Joel Robles and youngster Kristoffer Klaesson at his disposal. The latter may, however, benefit from a loan move away from Leeds.
Marsch’s side are also in negotiations to bring in Georginio Rutter from Hoffenheim. The Bundesliga whizzkid could set Leeds back a club-record fee of £35 million.
“Georginio’s development over the last year with us has been breathtaking,” beams Hoffenheim sporting director Alexander Rosen. “He’s one of the most promising young players in European football. Despite his young age, he already has an unbelievable blend of athleticism, technique, speed and an eye for goal.”
