Everton-linked star Arnaut Danjuma told the Guardian that he is ‘one of the best wingers in the world’ in April 2022.

With 16 goals and 4 assists in all competitions for Villareal last season, Danjuma may well have been bold, but correct.

Now, Cadena Ser have reported that Everton have opened talks to complete a deal for Danjuma.

El Periodico Mediterraneo had also claimed that Frank Lampard’s side were planning on bringing in the 25-year-old on loan.

Additionally, Villareal were seemingly happy with the offer tabled by Everton to sign Arnaut Danjuma on a temporary basis.

Interestingly enough, the Dutch international, who was surprisingly excluded from Louis van Gaal’s World Cup squad has a release clause worth £45 million.

Ultimately, the claim expressed by Danjuma is an insight from the man himself that he believes he is worth the fee and more.

Currently, Everton are in serious need of reinforcements in the forward areas, as barring Demarai Gray, it seems as if none of their players up front seem even close to creating or score goals.

And Danjuma certainly backs himself to do that and at the level of some of the elite players out there.

Everton-linked forward Arnaut Danjuma made the bold claim, while speaking to the Guardian in April 2022.

“If we look at what I’ve done this season, it’s quite fair and factual to say that I’m one of the best wingers in the world.”

“To be the best, you have to aim for more and there’s so much I still want to achieve. I’ve made mistakes, so there’s so much for me to develop.”

“I think I’m in a good place at the moment; 25, at Villareal, playing in the Champions League. We’ve got a good team and La Liga is an amazing league.”

“But I’m not done yet. It begins with believing in yourself”, Danjuma said after his first season at the club.

Well, if Arnaut Danjuma backs himself as amongst the best wingers in world football, Everton could be getting one hell of a player, if the move goes through.
