Aston Villa want Matteo Guendouzi and the Marseille midfielder has allegedly spoken to Unai Emery about the move to Villa Park.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who claim that Emery has told Guendouzi that he wants a reunion at Aston Villa.
It’s stated that if there is no offer on the table from Villa right now then there will be one very soon.
Marseille don’t really want to sell Guendouzi but it’s suggested that they may consider selling for over €30million (£26.5million).
Emery seems to be very interested in signing Guendouzi once again, moving quickly onto his next target with Real Betis left back Alex Moreno set to join.
This comes after L’Equipe reported on Tuesday that Marseille suspect Villa are trying to sign Guendouzi this month.

Aston Villa boss Emery has history with Guendouzi
Guendouzi and Emery go way back and appear to have a very strong relationship, no doubt boosting Villa’s hopes of a deal.
Emery signed Guendouzi shortly after becoming Arsenal boss in 2018, paying £8million after showing real promise with Lorient.
Guendouzi really impressed under Emery at Arsenal but lost his way under Mikel Arteta.
The pair just couldn’t rebuild their relationship and Arteta was shipped off on loan to Hertha Berlin and Marseille before joining the latter permanently last summer.
Emery has even tried to sign Guendouzi since leaving Arsenal; ESPN reported in 2020 that the Frenchman snubbed the chance to join Emery at Villarreal.
Still, having called Emery ’so unique’ in 2021, Guendouzi would surely jump at the chance to work with the Spaniard in the Premier League again.
Guendouzi featured for France at the World Cup in Qatar and would feel like a major coup for Villa if Emery can pull off a deal.
Emery faces paying much more than the price he signed Guendouzi for in 2018, and more than the £9million fee Arsenal sold him for in 2022.
Yet Emery seemingly believes that Guendouzi is worth it and could form a superb midfield partnership with his former Marseille teammate Boubacar Kamara.
