Reported Arsenal and Liverpool target Wilfried Zaha does not want to leave Crystal Palace in the January transfer window, according to The Athletic.

Arsenal and Liverpool target Wilfried Zaha wants Crystal Palace stay

The report published this morning has claimed that Zaha, linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, wants to stay at Palace for the rest of the season.

The former Manchester United winger is out of contract at Premier League outfit Palace in the summer of 2023.

90min reported in October 2022 that Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all want to sign the Ivory Coast international.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly an admirer of the 30-year-old.

Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Inter Milan were also credited with interest in Zaha in the 90min report.

Sensible stance

In our view, Wilfried Zaha’s decision to stay at Crystal Palace for the rest of the season is sensible.

Yes, Arsenal and Liverpool are big clubs and global brands, and leaving the Eagles for the Gunners or the Reds would be a step-up in his career.

However, Zaha could join Arsenal or Liverpool as a free agent in the summer of 2023.

In fact, the winger would be more appealing to the Gunners and the Reds if they did not have to pay any transfer fee for him.

Zaha is a Palace legend, and it would be fitting for him if he left at the end of the season instead of exiting midway through.
