Rangers boss Michael Beale isn’t completely ruling out a move for Everton midfielder Tom Davies even if he wouldn’t confirm a potential deal.
The Gers boss was asked about a couple of players after beating Dundee United 2-0 at Tannadice on Sunday evening.
One of them was Norwich City playmaker Todd Cantwell, who had been linked with a move to Ibrox on Saturday night.
Another was Everton midfielder Davies, who wasn’t linked by a major newspaper but was the source of chatter from Rangers fans.
Beale wouldn’t confirm that Rangers are trying to sign Davies but did offer him some praise.
Beale noted that Davies was a menace against his Liverpool Under-23 side because he would kick the Reds all over the place.
The Rangers boss then moved to compare Davies to current Ibrox midfielder John Lundstram, which is a big compliment from the Gers boss.
“Tom Davies, he used to kick my Liverpool Under 23s team all around the place,” said Beale. “There’s a bit of John Lundstram about him,” he added.

It may be time for Tom Davies to leave Everton, Rangers would make sense
Davies burst onto the scene back in 2017, scoring against Manchester City at Goodison Park.
Many were backing Davies for a huge future and Adrian Durham even compared him to Steven Gerrard, the former Rangers boss.
Sadly, that comparison hasn’t paid off for Davies who has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot for the Toffees.
Injuries have been a problem for Davies and after just six league displays last term, Davies has only started four Premier League games this term.
Now 24, Davies may well consider moving on to feature regularly elsewhere with Rangers a potential destination.
The Gers are looking to overhaul their midfield this year with question marks over the futures of Steven Davis, Glen Kamara and Ryan Jack.
Davies, if fit, can bring bite and energy to the Rangers midfield and playing under a manager who really rates him in Beale could be perfect.
Money may be the problem here but a loan with view to a permanent deal could work for everybody.
