Newcastle United remain keen on Moussa Diaby with the Bayer Leverkusen winger described as an ‘absolute dream’ signing for the summer.

That’s according to German newspaper Bild, who claim that Newcastle view Diaby as their absolute dream signing for next season and beyond.

It’s stated that Newcastle made moves to buy Diaby over the summer but couldn’t secure the Frenchman’s signature.

Leverkusen stood firm and kept the winger but will seemingly face another battle to keep him out of Newcastle’s clutches.

The report notes that Diaby is the fastest player in the Bundesliga having been clocked at 36.52 km/h this season.

Leverkusen understandably want to keep such a dangerous attacking weapon but Newcastle just aren’t giving up.

Moussa Diaby would be a huge coup for Newcastle

Miguel Almiron’s rise this season has been incredible to watch but Newcastle do still need another winger.

Joelinton is better as a midfielder and Jacob Murphy just isn’t good enough for where Newcastle want to go.

Allan Saint-Maximin has real quality but his injury problems are becoming a real problem, meaning he can’t really be counted on moving forward.

Newcastle must place a keen focus on signing another winger in 2023 and Diaby fits the bill perfectly.

The former Paris Saint-Germain talent has blistering pace but has also proven that he has the end product to match.

Diaby, 23, smashed 17 goals and 14 assists in a simply outstanding season for Leverkusen last term.

Diaby already has eight goals and four assists in 22 outings this season with many more expected to come in the second half of the season.

Capable of playing on the left or right flanks, Diaby is one of the top wingers in Europe and if Newcastle have a chance to land him, they have to go all out for it.
