According to CalcioMercato, Antonio Conte has told the Tottenham higher-ups to go out and sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for him.
You may be forgiven for not knowing all that much about Kvaratskhelia right now. After all, he’s only been playing in one of Europe’s top leagues for six months, but to say that he’s made a big impact would be an understatement.
Kvaratskhelia has six goals and five assists in just 13 Serie A appearances, while he also has five goal contributions in five Champions League matches.
Those stats are brilliant, but the scary thing is that the stats don’t tell half of the story of how good this player is.
Kvaratskhelia is the definition of an edge-of-your-seat player. He has pace, flair and he’s incredibly direct. Every single time he gets the ball you can’t help but sit up and take notice of what he’s about to do.
There’s a reason he’s earned the nickname ‘Kvaradona’. The Georgian is the brightest footballer to hit Naples since the player who inspired his nickname – Diego Maradona, and, trust us, you don’t earn comparisons to Maradona at Napoli unless you’re something special.

Indeed, Maradona is worshipped on an almost deity level in Naples, and taking his name in vein is the footballing equivalent to blasphemy.
Kvaratskhelia has more than earned these comparisons, and that’s because he has an god-given talent in the same way Maradona did. The Georgian is a rare breed in football these days, and any team would be lucky to have him – especially Spurs.
Tottenham have lacked a player like this for far too long. Yes they’ve had some stars in recent years such as Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, but they haven’t had someone as exciting as Kvaratskhelia sine Gareth Bale was hitting his prime in north London.
Kvaratskhelia may be the most exciting player we see at Spurs for a generation.
