Djed Spence wants to leave Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur on loan in the January transfer window, according to ESPN.

Djed Spence to leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan

The report published this morning has claimed that Spence is ‘increasingly likely to leave’ Premier League outfit Tottenham on a loan deal this month.

At least four Premier League clubs and Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen want to sign the right-back, who cost Spurs £19 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2022.

The report has claimed that Spence will now assess all his options before picking his next club and leave Tottenham on loan.

Loan exit makes sense

In our view, it makes sense that Djed Spence will leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old right-back is struggling for playing time at Spurs under head coach Antonio Conte at the moment.

There is no point in the English youngster not playing and just warming the bench at Tottenham, especially the you consider that he was a regular for Nottingham Forest last season.

Spence has made four substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played 25 minutes in the Carabao Cup for Tottenham so far this season.
