Josko Gvardiol has told Danas that he supported Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool as a boy, and has suggested that he would love to move to Anfield.

The RB Leipzig defender has said that since he was little, he has had Liverpool in his heart and would love to switch to Anfield.

Interestingly, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners have been linked with Gvardiol in the January transfer window.

90min reported on December 19, 2022 that Liverpool have expressed interest in signing the 20-year-old Croatia international centre-back.

The report added that Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on the youngster, who starred at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Josko Gvardiol would love to play for Liverpool

Question to Gvardiol: “And if I were to ask 10-year-old Josko, what would he say in which club he would want to play?”

Reply: “That would definitely be Liverpool. Since I was little, I watched a lot of Liverpool matches with my dad, and we covered every season in detail. It is a club that has remained in my heart.”

Encouraging

In our opinion, Josko Gvardiol publicly saying that he wanted to play for Liverpool as a boy is very encouraging for the Reds.

Virgil van Dijk is injured at the moment, and a player of Gvardiol’s quality would a very good signing for the Reds.

And let’s not forget that the RB Leipzig defender is only 20.

So, Gvardiol would be a very good long-term signing for Liverpool as well.
