AC Monza are now ready to make Celtic an offer for Josip Juranovic. The Serie A side and Hoops have been in talks over the Croatia defender’s potential transfer during recent days.
That is according to TuttoMercatoWEB, which reports Juranovic is one of Monza chairman Adriano Galliani’s dream targets. He has made the right-back one of his great goals for the January window. So, the Biancorossi are advancing their interest to rival his host of suitors.

La Liga side Espanyol have already made Celtic a concrete offer for Juranovic. But an array of Premier League clubs are also keen on his services and considering bids. So, Galliani will move to put pressure on his rivals by asking Celtic to sell Juranovic in an initial loan swoop.

Monza want to hire Juranovic in a loan transfer from Celtic for the rest of the season. Their deal would also include the obligation to buy the 27-year-old come the summer market for an upfront €7m (£6m). Galliani is also willing to pay the Hoops unspecified add-on clauses.
TuttoMercatoWEB does not cite the value of Espanyol’s offer for Juranovic’s transfer from Celtic. While Calciomercato reported this Wednesday that Monza had begun talks with the Hoops over a deal. But the Spanish and Italian sides are far from the only teams interested.

Celtic are unlikely to accept Monza’s offer for Josip Juranovic’s transfer
The Sunday Post (11/12, back page) has also cited Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle United and West Ham United as potential landing spots for Juranovic. The Daily Record has also credited Serie A side Torino with holding talks with Celtic over the defender’s transfer.
But the Bhoys told Il Toro that they want £17m to sell Juranovic, just 17 months after they paid Legia Warsaw £2.5m. Talks also remain ongoing between the Parkhead outfit and his agent for a new contract to fend off Barcelona, who made him a top target, per Sky Sports.
So, Galliani will have to table a host of easy-to-achieve add-ons for Celtic to send Juranovic to Monza in an initial loan transfer. Praise from Gary Neville for the defender’s efforts with Croatia at the World Cup also go to show the type of player so many sides are keen to sign.
“Absolutely brilliant,” Neville declared on ITV Sport. “Juranovic is fantastic going forward [and he] epitomises the modern-day full-back.
“He’s bright, he’s lively, he’s not just serving the attack – he’s contributing to it. He’s been a real presence in this tournament on the right-hand side for Croatia.”
