CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has reported that Chelsea could beat Arsenal to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk on two conditions.
Just recently, the Evening Standard had claimed that Mikel Arteta’s side had launched an improved second bid worth £62 million to sign Mudryk.
However, Chelsea had decided to also pile on the pressure on both Arsenal and Shakhtar Donetsk to wrap up a deal for the Ukrainian winger.
The Sun also stated that Shakhtar sporting director, Darijo Srna is set to head over to London to hold direct talks with Todd Boehly.
With Chelsea being in a rut even under Graham Potter, Boehly aims to equip the once-acclaimed tactician with top signings, including the Arsenal target.
However, the impression one has got is that Mudryk himself would still prefer to join Mikel Arteta’s side, with the player himself describing the potential switch as a “dream” (via Sport Arena).
But a twist could well be in the tale, according to a fresh update.
Ben Jacobs says Chelsea could beat Arsenal to Mykhaylo Mudryk if…

As per CBS journalist, Chelsea could stun Arsenal by beating them in the race to sign long-time target Mykhaylo Mudryk on 2 conditions.
“Arsenal in control of situation because [Mykhaylo] Mudryk wants the move and Chelsea yet to even place an offer.”
“The only way Chelsea will succeed is (if they choose to proceed) is by satisfying Shakhtar’s desire for a big fee upfront and hoping Arsenal walk away”, Jacobs replied on Twitter.
The Gunners are the favorites for the speedster and should win this battle
Considering Arsenal also clearly rate Mykhaylo Mudryk quite highly, it would be a shame if they now lose out to Chelsea in the chase for his signature, as per the conditions explained by Ben Jacobs.
Mikel Arteta’s side are currently Premier League leaders and that too, with a significant 5-point lead over Manchester City.
Notably, the Blues are 19 points adrift of the Gunners in 10th place.
With Arsenal clearly having an edge over Chelsea in every aspect when it comes to signing Mykhaylo Mudryk, they must win this battle instead of their London rivals.
