Arsenal and Newcastle United want Victor Osimhen with Napoli now targeting Udinese striker Beto as a potential replacement.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who claim that Napoli have a ‘feeling’ that Kim Min-jae and Osimhen could be leaving in the summer.

It’s stated that Arsenal and Newcastle are both interested in luring Osimhen to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Napoli are trying to plan for that scenario and are targeting a deal for Udinese striker Beto.

The 24-year-old target man has racked up 17 goals in 45 games for Udinese having shown promise in Portugal with Portimonense.

Napoli may try to lay the groundwork for a Beto deal so that an agreement is ready to go if Osimhen does decide to go in the summer.

Victor Osimhen is top quality but Arsenal or Newcastle move would be surprise

Osimhen, 24, has proven himself to be one of the top young strikers in Serie A.

The Nigerian has smashed nine goals in 11 Serie A games this season whilst adding two assists.

Add in 14 goals in 27 Serie A games last season and Osimhen has continued his goalscoring success in Italy having excelled with Lille.

Yet Osimhen heading to Arsenal or Newcastle does feel a little hard to imagine this summer.

Arsenal spent on a striker last season with Gabriel Jesus arriving from Manchester City.

The Brazilian is injured right now but will continue to be Arsenal’s first choice, so spending more than £80million on Osimhen sounds unlikely.

It’s a similar story at Newcastle, where Alexander Isak was signed for huge money last summer and looks to be the future of the Magpies attack.

Splashing huge money on Osimhen less than a year after signing Isak doesn’t seem likely, and we’re backing Osimhen to head somewhere like Manchester United or Bayern Munich instead.
