Jose Enrique has commented on how excellent Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was even at just 15 years old while training with Liverpool.
The Mirror reported back in 2014 that Odegaard trained with the Reds at Melwood, before his blockbuster switch to Real Madrid.
Currently, the Norwegian skipper is in the form of his life in an Arsenal shirt this season.
With 7 goals and 5 assists to his name in the 2022/2023 Premier League campaign, the ex-Liverpool target, Martin Odegaard has been one of the most in-form midfielders in the country.
On the weekend once again, the 24-year-old came up clutch with yet another strike as Arsenal beat Brighton 4-2.
As things stand, the Gunners are favourites to win the Premier League, extending their lead to a sizable 7 points at the top of the league table.
One of the main men behind Mikel Arteta’s side looking like the real deal is the £85,000-a-week talisman, who may well be the club’s best player this season.
Jose Enrique reflects on how good Martin Odegaard was in Liverpool training at 15

Jose Enrique has taken to Instagram to reminisce on how brilliant Martin Odegaard looked, even in training at Liverpool as a 15-year-old.
“You may also remember he [Martin Odegaard] trained with us [Liverpool] as well and we try to sign him.”
“I remember a lot because it was in my time at LFC and he trained with us when he was 15 or 16 and you could see a lot of qualities and why everyone wanted him”, he said.
Odegaard would have been tailor-made for Liverpool
While Martin Odegaard is shining at Arsenal, it’s easy to see how he could have been a smash hit at Liverpool as well.
Even if Odegaard struggled to pull strings during Brendan Rodgers’ time, Jurgen Klopp’s arrival in 2015 would have aided his development.
With Klopp’s Liverpool lacking a natural No.10 to this day, who is blessed with an eye for a pass and is a pressing machine, it would have been a match made in heaven.
Ultimately, Arsenal proved to be the victors, as Odegaard has been sensational since signing on a permanent basis for the league leaders.
