Chris Sutton has said on Twitter that Celtic central defender Cameron Carter-Vickers was “immense” against Michael Beale’s Rangers at Ibrox in the Old Firm derby on Monday afternoon.

The BBC Sport and BT Sport pundit was impressed by the performance of former Tottenham centre-back Carter-Vickers, who cost Celtic £6 million in transfer fees (The Daily Mail), in the Scottish Premiership match against Rangers.

The Old Firm derby between Rangers and Celtic on Monday afternoon ended in a 2-2 draw.

Former Celtic striker Sutton has also controversially said that the Hoops should have been awarded a penalty in the match.

There was an incident in the Old Firm derby where Rangers defender Connor Goldson appeared to have handled the ball inside the box.

VAR waved away the appeals.

Title race over?

The draw in the Old Firm derby suits Celtic and is a blow to Rangers’ chances of winning the Scottish Premiership title this season.

Celtic, who won the title last season, are at the top of the table with 55 points from 20 games.

Rangers are second with 46 points from 20 games.

We do not think that the Gers will now be able to catch the Hoops, who should get it over the line and win the title this campaign.
