Everton have reportedly made contact with La Liga side Almeria to sign Largie Ramazani, who was once on Manchester United’s books before heading to Spain in 2020.

According to AS, the Toffees have approached the Andalusian club over the 21-year-old Belgian attacker, with Almeria believed to be open to selling Ramazani in January if a suitable enough offer is made for the former Red Devils wonderkid.

As per the report, Ramazani has a release clause of €40m (£35m), though it is believed that Almeria will be willing to selling the youngster for a much lower asking price, even with a club as big as Everton now interested in signing the winger.

Despite scoring just two goals in La Liga this season, Ramazani has been a regular for Almeria, and Frank Lampard has now seemingly been impressed with what he has seen from the forward this campaign, with Everton in need of some more firepower in Janaury.

Everton sit just one point ahead of the relegation zone in the Premier League standings, and with Ramazani now a target, Lampard could be making a risk by looking to sign younger players yet to hit their full potential rather than an established name who could be an immediate hit at Goodison Park.

Indeed, Ramazani has the potential to impress in England having spent his youth with both United and Charlton Athletic, and the attacker himself could relish in the chance to prove to his former employers at a rival club in Everton that he was wrong to be underused in his last spell in Britain.

Lampard’s managerial career has been an unusual one, to say the least. Yet one thing the English coach has quickly established is that he is willing and open to play young players if he thinks there good enough to make an impact, and this is something the Everton boss could see in Ramazani.

After all, Ramazani is just 21 and already in his third full season of senior football in Spain. And whilst Everton might need an established attacker to help find the back of the net, there’s no denying that the Belgian youth international could find his feet at Goodison Park with Lampard guiding him in the Premier League.
