Blackpool have reportedly opened talks with Manchester City to sign Morgan Rogers on loan, with the England U-20 international set to leave the Premier League giants in the January window.
According to Daily Mail reporter Jack Gaughan, the Tangerines are working on a deal to bring the 20-year-old winger to Bloomfield Road this month, with Rogers in desperate need of a loan spell away from City having not played any football this season.

Rogers was once highly considered one of City’s most exciting youth talents following impressive loan spells at the likes of Lincoln City and AFC Bournemouth. However, the winger has failed to live up to his potential in recent months.
Lauded as ‘oustanding’ by Blackpool manager Michael Appleton during their together with the Imps via Lincolnshire Live, Rogers has the potential to get his career back on track at Blackpool, who this season have been exceptional at nurturing young players.
Indeed, a loan spell back to the Championship would be ideal for Rogers. And for City themselves, the Manchester club will be doing the former West Bromwich Albion talent a favour by sending him to a second-tier side to get him back into match fitness.
Morgan Rogers signing for Blackpool could restart his career

Rogers’ reputation fell off a cliff in 2022 when the winger opted to remain at City for the new season, yet there is a good chance that the attacker can return to his best with Blackpool, where Appleton knows how to use the winger to full potential.
With the Championship also the perfect league for a young English player to develop their craft, a move to Blackpool ticks all the boxes for Rogers, who will be thinking that this loan spell to Lancashire will be his best chance yet to spark his career back into life.
