According to CalcioMercato, Arsenal are leading the race to sign Adrien Rabiot in January.
The Gunners could do with some midfield reinforcements next month as they’re seemingly one injury away from collapsing in the middle of the park, and now, they’re targeting Rabiot.
The French midfielder was excellent during the World Cup, and while he has blown hot and cold over the years, there has always been an innate talent in there.
Don’t just take our word for it though. Rabiot has garnered praise from some of the game’s most respected figures in the past, including a certain Patrick Vieira.
If anyone knows what a good midfielder looks like, it’s Vieira, and he’s spoken incredibly highly of this player in the past.

Vieira loves Rabiot
The Arsenal legend praised Rabiot back in 2017 when speaking to RMC Sport.
“Rabiot is becoming one of the best players in this position. I love the Rabiot I see at PSG. He knows how to play ball, go forward. It helps attackers to receive good balls,” Vieira said.
Seal of approval
If a midfielder is good enough for Vieira, he’s good enough for Arsenal.
Indeed, if one of the very best midfield players of a generation rates you, then you must have something special about you.
In all honesty, Rabiot’s talent has never been up for debate, his issues mainly lie with his attitude and his off-field antics, and that’s where Arsenal could begin to have a bit of hesitancy about this move.
Mikel Arteta is known for being strict when it comes to his players’ behaviour, and it’s fair to say that Rabiot may not be his cup of tea.
He is a talented player though and if Arteta can get to grips with his personality he could be a star at Arsenal.
