West Ham are now favourites to sign Nottingham Forest target Michael Keane from Everton.
What’s the story?
Well, that is according to journalist Paul Brown, who told Give Me Sport: “I just think everyone knows that, because he’s not getting a game really for Everton, he could be on the market.
“I think Michael Keane’s decided that he’s going to have to move to get more football, so I think he’s going to go somewhere and West Ham, I would say, are favourites at the moment.”
The England international came close to leaving Goodison Park back in the summer after Frank Lampard signed James Tarkowski and Conor Coady.
Everton wanted to offload Keane to Nottingham Forest – according to The Sun – after Steve Cooper showed an interest in bringing the defender to the City Ground.

However, a move failed to materialise for the man Everton signed from Burnley for £30m back in 2017.
Keane has played just 22 minutes of Premier League football so far this season, and still hasn’t been given a chance despite the Toffees winning just three of their 17 league games at the time of writing.
Therefore, you can understand why the £69,000-a-week man would like to leave Goodison Park.
West Ham should leave Keane to Nottingham Forest
In our view, if David Moyes brought the centre-back to east London, there would be plenty of anger from the London Stadium faithful.
Everton, who find themselves one point above the relegation zone at the time of writing, decided that Keane wasn’t good enough for their starting XI – therefore, why would West Ham think he’s worth signing?
With all due respect, the 29-year-old used to be a fantastic defender during his days at Burnley, but he has been nothing short of a disaster in recent years on Merseyside.
If Moyes wants to improve West Ham’s current situation, he should be searching for better players.
