According to Football London, Tottenham Hotspur are fans of Leicester City’s Harvey Barnes.

More specifically, Fabio Paratici is a fan of the England international.

Barnes has been excellent for the Foxes this season, he has six goals in 14 league games, including four in his last six matches.

Barnes has been shining at this level for around three seasons now, and his solid form for the East Midlands club has seen him linked with the likes of Liverpool in the past.

However, Spurs are now keen on Barnes, but, as ever, that doesn’t mean that a transfer is on the horizon.

Indeed, it’s also stated that Barnes would command a hefty pricetag, and with Leicester having such a poor start to the season, City may be hesitant to let Barnes go at this point.

With Newcastle United also keen on James Maddison, Leicester are unlikely to want to enter conversations around Barnes’ future until the situation of their other star player is sorted.

Described as ‘lightning fast’ in the past, Barnes would certainly be a good fit for Spurs down the left wing, and with Heung-Min Son faltering this season, reinforcements in that position may be prioritised by Spurs in the near future.

If Son doesn’t buck up his ideas in the next few months, perhaps a move for Barnes could come onto the agenda in the summer transfer window and the South Korean could be phased out. After all, he is turning 31 in the summer and it’s not unheard of for a player who is reliant on his pace to begin to decline at that point.

Barnes, however, at the age of just 25, is on the up, and if he keeps up this form a move to a so-called elite club won’t be too far away.
