Jamie Carragher has said on Sky Sports Premier League (8:25pm, December 30, 2022) that Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez’s pace against Leicester City at Anfield in the Premier League on Friday evening was “absolutely frightening”.
Carragher was on co-commentary duty for the Premier League match between Liverpool and Leicester at Anfield.
The former Liverpool defender was hugely impressed by the Uruguay international striker’s pace.
Nunez created a wonderful chance for Liverpool teammate and Egypt international forward Mohamed Salah in the 24th minute.
Praise for Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez v Leicester City
Carragher said: “The pace is absolutely frightening, combines really well with Salah.”
Nunez was involved in Liverpool’s second goal in the 45th minute.
The striker’s effort came back off the frame of the Leicester goal, and Wout Faes turned it in for an own goal.
Carragher said: “His pace on two or three occasions has been absolutely frightening, and if he gets away from you, you are not pulling him back.”

Impressive
In our opinion, Darwin Nunez played well for Liverpool against Leicester City at Anfield in the Premier League on Friday evening.
The Uruguayan was a nuisance for the Leicester defence throughout his time on the pitch.
Nunez’s direct running and pace was stunning, and he also had a few chances of his own.
The striker created two very good chances for his Liverpool teammate Salah as well.
The problem with Nunez at the moment is his finishing.
Nunez is getting into good positions, but his final effort is not always on target.
