Italian outlet CMW report that Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic would be more tempted by a move to either Chelsea or Manchester United over Newcastle United – with the Toon said to be considering an offer for next summer.

Vlahovic, 22, only joined Juventus a year ago from Fiorentina. He has done well, but perhaps not yet proven his big transfer fee – scoring 16 goals in 36 appearances. With Juve’s form up and down, a move could materialise soon.

The Serbia striker is said to be a target for Newcastle. The Toon are expected to continue to improve their attacking options and despite the signing of Alex Isak, and the presence of Callum Wilson, Vlahovic could be be the next.

Indeed, Newcastle are interested – as are Chelsea and Manchester United. A January move is unlikely but a deal could happen next summer, if offers of more than £70million are tabled. But Vlahovic is unmoved by Newcastle.

It is believed that if Vlahovic is to move to the Premier League, he would prefer United or Chelsea over the Toon. Whether Newcastle qualifying for the Champions League at the end of the season would change that, who knows.

Do Newcastle really need another striker? Wilson is in the form of his life, such form which earned him a place in England’s World Cup side. Chris Wood has shown he is a good back-up option. Alex Isak is back from injury soon.

Why would Newcastle want another no.9, unless they are ready to demote Wilson and play Isak out wide? But even then, that would be harsh on Miguel Almiron or Allan Saint-Maximin, both of whom have been superb this term.

The priorities for Newcastle should be a holding midfielder with Jonjo Shelvey injured. An attacking midfielder, with James Maddison strongly linked. And, a left-back. Dan Burn is shining on the left – but hardly a long-term solution.
