Betinho has started to trend after the Premier League strangely listed him as a Manchester United player on their official website.
A number of supporters have been discussing the Portuguese striker online as the Premier League claim he has played for the Red Devils since 2019.
So, who is Betinho? And does he play for Manchester United? Let’s take a look…
Who is Betinho?
Well, Betinho is a 29-year-old striker, who has never played football in England let alone for Manchester United.
He currently plays for Portuguese outfit Espinho as a forward, and wears the No.11 shirt.
Interestingly, the Premier League have him listed as part of Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United squad, and claim that he wears the No.11 shirt at Old Trafford, which officially belongs to Mason Greenwood.
You can see a photo of Betinho as part of the Manchester United squad below.
The Premier League state on their official website that Betinho joined the Red Devils just before the 2019/20 campaign, but despite plenty of speculation online after fans began to gossip, we believe it is just a simple error.
Betinho has represented Portugal at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, but was never handed a chance to make his full debut for the senior Portugal side.
Throughout his career, the striker has scored 27 goals in 112 appearances, while also providing three assists.
We are aware that Manchester United fans want to see a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo arrive, even more so after Liverpool pinched Cody Gakpo from under Ten Hag’s nose.

However, Betinho is not Manchester United’s answer to their situation, despite the Premier League fuelling plenty of rumours as a result of their mistake.
