Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal do not want to pay more than €70 million (£62 million) for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudryk in the January transfer window, according to journalist Ben Jacobs on Twitter.
The CBS Sports journalist has reported that Arsenal will not pay the €100 million (£88.53 million) that Shakhtar want for the 21-year-old Ukraine international winger.
Jacobs has claimed that the Ukrainian giants want Arsenal to increase their initial offer for Mudryk, described as “an exceptional talent” by former Chelsea and Celtic striker Chris Sutton in The Daily Record in October 2022.
The Guardian have also have claimed that Arsenal have made a bid for Mudryk, adding that the young winger is the Gunners’ top target.
Arsenal stance on Mykhailo Mudryk of Shakhtar Donetsk

Sensible
In our opinion, Arsenal should not pay what Shakhtar Donetsk want for Mykhailo Mudryk.
Yes, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta might think that the winger would make his side better, but that does not mean that the Gunners should pay over the odds for a 21-year-old who has not played his club football outside of Ukraine.
The Gunners should stick to their own valuation of the winger.
We think that Shakhtar will eventually lower their valuation of the winger.
