Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes there should be no hurdles thrown in the way of Borussia Dortmund ace Jude Bellingham.

The Reds boss has unsurprisingly been asked about Bellingham ahead of the 2023 scramble for his signature.

Bellingham is widely expected to leave Dortmund in 2023 with clubs fighting for his signature.

It sounds like this could be a three-horse race between Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid, though Manchester United may have dreams of a deal.

Klopp has now hailed Bellingham after seeing him shine not only for Dortmund but also for England at the World Cup.

However, speaking to The Telegraph, Klopp also posed something of a warning about the 19-year-old midfielder.

Klopp noted that whilst everybody knows how good Bellingham is, he doesn’t exactly know what that means financially, in terms of wages and transfer fee.

If Bellingham joins City or Real, you can imagine that the money being offered to him will be absolutely astronomical.

Yet Klopp feels that everyone should do Bellingham ‘a favour’ and not talk about money, believing that focusing on finances will be something of an obstacle for him.

“Everybody already knew (how good Bellingham is) but I have no idea what that means for the money side of it,” said Klopp. “I really think if we all want to do him a favour then we do not talk too much about money. I mean that from an England point of view. Do not throw any hurdles in his development,” he added.

Klopp shows the personal touch with Bellingham that Liverpool need

We have seen it all before; a young player shows enormous potential, receives a staggering amount of money and then loses their passion and drive.

That’s the kind of thing nobody wants to see, with Klopp keen to see Bellingham thrive for years to come – just like the rest of us.

Yet this may also be the push for the personal touch to sign Bellingham.

If it comes down to just finances, Liverpool may get blown out of the water by City and Real.

Yet Bellingham has already shown that isn’t all about money for him, snubbing English clubs to join Dortmund in 2020.

Liverpool will now hope that Bellingham feels similarly this time around and Klopp wanting to ditch the money talk and focus on his development is the kind of thing that the midfielder will love.

Liverpool will certainly hope that Klopp’s personal touch can secure Bellingham, ditching the big pay packet for hero status at Anfield.
