Liverpool have been encouraged to join the race for Joao Felix.

Jurgen Klopp is in dire need of attacking reinforcements.

Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are both sidelined until February and March respectively, while Roberto Firmino sat out the League Cup defeat by Manchester City in midweek through injury.

With Liverpool sixth in the Premier League and already struggling, Klopp’s side could get even worse from here on in without the addition of firepower in January.

According to Duncan Castles of The Daily Record, as covered by HITC Sport, Arsenal are in advanced talks with Atletico Madrid about signing the player.

The same report noted that the Spanish outfit would want an £8 million loan fee for Felix – who cost £113 million in 2019 [Daily Mail] – and Jose Enrique believes it’s a no-brainer for his former club Liverpool.

Here’s what he wrote on Instagram:

Joao Felix to Liverpool

In terms of physical stature, Felix might not be best suited to the Premier League.

Then again, he doesn’t look too dissimilar to someone like, say, David Silva for instance, so he shouldn’t be written off immediately.

His form in Spain is absolutely a concern, however, but someone of Klopp’s man-management skills might be able to freshen him up, get a sweeter tune out of him than Diego Simeone can muster any longer.

Joao Felix to Liverpool? Who knows, but one thing we know for certain is that the German manager does need at least two attacking players signed this winter and with one available on an £8 million loan, it could be looked at.
