In our view, there are 5 potential signings Liverpool should make in 2023, apart from Jude Bellingham as they aim to return to the top once again.
5 potential Liverpool signings in 2023 excluding Bellingham
1. Michael Olise would be the perfect Mohamed Salah backup in 2023

So far this season, Mohamed Salah has flattered to deceive.
After penning the most expensive contract in Liverpool history in the summer (via talkSPORT), the Egyptian winger has been far from his best this campaign.
Keeping that in mind, signing an understudy to the club’s record goalscorer in the Champions League would be smart thinking from the club.
Enter Michael Olise.
First things first, the Crystal Palace wideman, much like Salah is a left-footed right winger.
Renowned for his quick feet, silky dribbling and creativity, the French U-21 international is one of the most gifted young wingers in the world.
And under Jurgen Klopp’s tutelage, one can even imagine that Olise turns into a phenomenon capable of replacing Salah one day.
Both as a Mohamed Salah backup for the present and his successor in the future, Liverpool should be all in for Michael Olise in 2023.
2. Ismael Bennacer to Liverpool is a match made in heaven

The former Arsenal youngster would be another perfect profile of player to slot into a midfield that is in desperate need of new signings.
Ismael Bennacer, in a similar vein to Bernardo Silva is well capable of both thriving as a No.8 while dictating a game from a deeper role.
The AC Milan lynchpin’s silky feet, excellent passing and enviable engine make him the dream midfielder for any club to sign.
In terms of replacing Thiago as well as the midfielder to lead the Reds in the middle of the park during the Spaniard’s inevitable injury-enforced absence, he would be a superb signing.
3. Harvey Barnes as an understudy to Luis Diaz makes perfect sense for Liverpool

With Jurgen Klopp telling Liverpool Echo that Luis Diaz has succumbed to yet another injury, Harvey Barnes would be a smart pickup in January for the Merseyside-based club.
The Leicester City left winger is enjoying an underrated season in the Premier League, bagging 6 goals for a struggling Foxes side.
And to several fans’ surprise, the Englishman offers similar qualities to the Colombian wideman.
Barnes has pace to burn, whilst being an incredible dribbler and one of the most direct wingers in the Premier League.
Unlike Diaz, the 25-year-old is also comfortable with his left foot and has showcased a propensity to run in behind defences.
With Leicester currently languishing in 13th place in the league, Liverpool could easily tempt Harvey Barnes into joining them.
4. Bringing Sofyan Amrabat would be starting 2023 right

The Moroccan international, in a similar vein to Jude Bellingham has constantly been linked with a switch to Anfield.
So much so that Revelo journalist Matteo Moretto even claimed that Liverpool’s scouts have been wowed by Sofyan Amrabat, who is currently enjoying a stellar World Cup campaign.
The 26-year-old could prove to be a brilliant alternative to Fabinho, whose form has fallen off a cliff this season.
While the Brazilian’s athleticism in particular has undergone a same decline, the same cannot be said for Amrabat, who has singlehandedly bossed both Spain and Portugal’s midfields in consecutive games.
Technically as well, the Fiorentina defensive midfielder has it all.
From Armabat’s ability to break the lines to his sublime ball-carrying ability out of pressure situations, many have even classed him as the player of the tournament at the World Cup.
Liverpool should be all over the in-demand midfielder in 2023, who could prove to be one of the best signings they have made in recent memory.
5. Adam Webster would be a wildcard, yet smart signing for Liverpool

Now, this is not to suggest that Liverpool should eye Adam Webster as a marquee centre-back signing.
However, the Brighton defender would prove to be a brilliant squad player, especially considering Joe Gomez’s struggles and Joel Matip’s injury concerns.
Webster fits the bill of a modern centre-half, being a fantastic passer of the ball whilst still being a reliable defensive presence.
The Englishman is also extremely tactically flexible, comfortable of operating both in a back three as well as a back four.
While this may be a left-field suggestion, the Reds could do far worse than having Adam Webster as their 4th choice centre-back, considering his quality, availability and comfortability in possession.
These 5 signings would bolster Liverpool in a variety of roles, aside from the obvious Jude Bellingham in a way that helps the side compete for top honours once again.
