According to Fabrizio Romano in GiveMeSport, Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are in advanced talks with Cody Gakpo, a player Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal also want to sign from PSV in the January transfer window.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano has said that Manchester United are already in advanced negotiations with the 23-year-old Netherlands international forward, who starred at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The Mirror reported on Friday that Manchester United are in talks with PSV over signing Gakpo, adding that Arsenal, Newcastle United and Real Madrid are also keen on the 23-year-old.
Earlier this month, The Mirror claimed that PSV are looking for £50 million in transfer fees for the young forward.
Manchester United in talks with Arsenal target Cody Gakpo
Romano wrote: “At the moment, for Kudus, they are not in advanced negotiations, including on the player side.
“But, with Gakpo, negotiations are already advanced on the player’s side but not between clubs, as of now.”

Gunners need to step up
In our opinion, if Arsenal are genuinely serious about signing Cody Gakpo in the January transfer window, then they have to step up their game and open talks with the winger and his club PSV.
Manchester United are already pressing ahead with their interest in the winger, described as “dangerous” by former Arsenal and Red Devils striker Robin van Persie on BT Sport (27 October, 5pm), and the Gunners need to take action of their own now.
Or else they will miss out on the signing of the Dutchman.
