Rennes coach Bruno Genesio believes that Loic Bade should leave Premier League strugglers Nottingham Forest and join Sevilla ‘in the next few days’, in quotes reported by Estadio Deportivo.
With Willy Boly, Joe Worral, Scott McKenna and Cheikhou Kouyate all firmly established ahead of Bade in Steve Cooper’s pecking order, former France U21 international would most probably benefit from a change of scenery.
The £12 million centre-half hasn’t even made his debut for Nottingham Forest. He might never feature in Garibaldi red either.

Because, with Bade’s season-long loan spell set to be cut short next month, the one-time RC Lens starlet looks set for a fresh start in Spain.
Nottingham Forest loanee Loic Bade is close to joining La Liga giants Sevilla
“At the moment it’s not confirmed. But it should happen in the next few days,” Genesio said when quizzed on Bade’s winter switch to Seville.
“I hope so, for him, because he needs to play. He didn’t play at Nottingham Forest, and he needs to find more playing time. For him, it would be a great opportunity to (play) it in a great league like the Spanish one. And for a good team like Sevilla, with a good coach (Jorge Sampaoli).”
Sevilla, Europa League champions back in 2020, went into the World Cup break stuck in La Liga’s relegation zone; an unfamiliar position for a club used to competing at the other end of the table. The summer departures of Diego Carlos and Jules Kounde broke up one of the continent’s finest defensive partnerships. To make matters worse, Sevilla have now lost Marcao to a long-term injury.
Marcao, brought in to help the Andalusian giants move on from Carlos and Kounde, will need to undergo surgery. Bade should, at least, help offset his absence.
Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, will to back head coach Steve Cooper with further funds despite an unprecedented summer overhaul at the City Ground. Playmaker Gustavo Scarpa is arriving from Palmeiras.
