When is the draw for the Carabao Cup? Plenty of people are asking this question after Newcastle and others qualified for the quarter-finals.

The Magpies booked their spot in the last eight after a 1-0 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday evening, while Wolves, Leicester and Southampton are also in the hat at the time of writing.

Manchester United take on Burnley in their Fourth Round meeting, while Charlton will play Brighton and Blackburn take on Nottingham Forest in the other games at this stage of the competition.

So, when is the draw for the Carabao Cup? Let’s take a look…

When is the draw for the Carabao Cup?

The draw for the Carabao Cup quarter-finals will be held after Liverpool and Manchester City’s Fourth Round clash at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday evening.

Mark Chapman will be joined by Shay Given, as well as the England Women’s Euro 2022 winning goalkeeper Mary Earps, to pluck the balls from the hat at roughly 22:00 GMT – if the game ends after 90 minutes.

If the score is level after full-time, you won’t have to wait for extra-time to see the quarter-final draw, as Carabao Cup encounters now go straight to penalties, barring the semi-final second leg and also the final.

When is the Carabao Cup quarter-final?

The Carabao Cup quarter-final clashes will begin on the week commencing January 9th 2023.

Two matches will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, although the chosen fixtures are yet to be decided.

Liverpool will hope to defeat Manchester City and retain their crown after defeating Chelsea 11-10 on penalties in the 2021/22 final at Wembley back in February, following a goalless draw after 120 minutes.
