Trabzonspor have reportedly been in contact to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore over a potential move in January, with the Turkish champions already speaking to the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes.

According to Karadeniz Gazete, Trabzonspor have made an approach to the Portuguese super-agent over signing the 26-year-old attacker, with Traore’s contract with Wolves coming to an end in 2023 and interest once again increasing for the Spanish international.

90min recently claimed that Leeds United are also keeping tabs on Traore, though it now appears that Trabzonspor have made a definitive approach to sign the forward, with Wolves likely to cash in on the former FC Barcelona academy graduate next month.

Once lauded by Jurgen Klopp as ‘unplayable’, Traore featured for Wolves this week in the League Cup in what was Julen Lopetegui’s first match in charge of the Molineux side as the Spaniard guided the hosts to a 2-0 win against League Two club Gillingham.

Indeed, with Trabzonspor now interested in Traore and making moves to sign the winger, there is a realistic chance that the forward could finally be set to leave Wolves after years of speculation, with the Turkish side a great next step for the Premier League sensation.

After all, Trabzonspor are one of Europe’s rising clubs that have been exceptional in recent years in breaking the status-quo in Turkey. And for Traore, a new adventure and challenge could be exactly what the forward needs to unlock his true potential.

Traore should strongly consider signing for Trabzonspor

Traore was once viewed as one of Europe’s most unorthodox players. A tank of a winger who dribbled like it was nothing yet a lack of end product stopped the forward from becoming one of the best in his position in world football. Which is why Trabzonspor would be such an appealing move.

After all, Traore has tried and tried again to fully establish himself in the Premier League to no avail, and signing for a club Trabzonspor could be what the exciting forward needs to hit his real potential.
