Michael Dawson says Jude Bellingham is ‘perfect’ for Liverpool, but he fears that the Borussia Dortmund star will join Manchester City instead.
The 19-year-old shone at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, despite England getting knocked out of the quarter-final stages to France, with former Tottenham defender Dawson adding that ‘everything about him is unbelievable’.
The fact that Jurgen Klopp needs to refresh his midfield, makes their pursuit to sign Bellingham, who they have been long-admirers of, even more desperate.

In truth, if those on Merseyside are willing to splash serious cash on the player, then they might just trump the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea to his signature.
Whilst Liverpool don’t splash the cash like those at the Etihad, they have still broken transfer records, and when that happens, notably Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker, then they prove to be superstar transfers.
There was hype already on Bellingham before a ball was kicked in Qatar, so you can now add World Cup tax to his potential transfer fee because Dawson thinks he will leave Dortmund for ‘£100 million+’, as he told the Football Show on Sky Sports.
“Everything about him is unbelievable,” said Dawson. “He can go wherever he wants to go. People were talking about Liverpool, but how much is he going to cost?
“£100 million+. Easy. For a 19-year-old. Dortmund aren’t going to want to let him go. They invested well in him. They have given him the education. Playing in the first team and in Champions League games, so they are going to be wanting £100m+ guaranteed.
“I’m not sure Liverpool will pay that for him. I think he will be perfect for Liverpool, but he will go to Manchester City.”

BELLINGHAM WILL MAKE THE RIGHT CALL
As Bellingham proved when he left Birmingham City, he could have easily joined the bright lights of the Premier League, but instead, he opted to further his education in Germany.
It proved to be a masterstroke of a move because his development has been outstanding, but now for the next step.
That could be the unlikeliest answer of staying put because he’s not even out of his teenage years, but the time feels right for Bellingham to showcase his talent in the Premier League.
The key thing is that he needs to fit into a system that needs him and would utilise his box-to-box talents, Jurgen Klopp would provide that in bucketloads.
