GiveMeSport have suggested that Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison finds Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United more appealing that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
James Maddison linked with Newcastle and Liverpool
The report has claimed that Newcastle are keen on signing Maddison in the January transfer window and are willing to pay £60 million for the England international playmaker.
Liverpool and Manchester United have also been linked, and Maddison reportedly knows about interest in him.
The report has claimed that working under Eddie Howe would appeal to Maddison, as ‘he has enjoyed an open and deep relationship with Brendan Rodgers and will be keen to link up with a manager that is completely bought in to his own aspirations’.
Maddison would also have the chance to be a star of the team at Newcastle rather be one of the many at Liverpool, and that would be very appealing to him, according to the report.

Could a transfer happen in January?
In our opinion, Newcastle United could be able to sign James Maddison ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United in the January transfer window.
If the Magpies are willing to pay the £60 million that Leicester want for him, then they will be able to speak to Maddison.
Newcastle are in the race for the Premier League top four at the moment and are going places under Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
And they could be able to persuade Maddison to make the switch to St. James’ Park in the middle of the season.
