Jose Enrique says Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal would be making a ‘great signing’ in Liverpool target, Youri Tielemans, if they manage to do a deal for the Leicester City midfielder during the January transfer window, as he posted on Instagram.
The former Liverpool left-back was reacting to claims that Arsenal will make a ‘final attempt’ to sign the Belgium international during the January transfer window – he will be a free agent in the summer, otherwise.
Signed for £40 million in 2019 (The Guardian), Tielemans has been an excellent servant to the Foxes, including winning the FA Cup.

But, ahead of him possibly leaving for nothing, they will want to get as much as they can for him next month, with Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool also tracking the goalscoring midfielder.
With the Premier League leaders possibly in with a chance of watching Tielemans in their colours, Enrique backed that move, despite it meaning Liverpool won’t be able to sign him.
“If this is true, then another great signing from Arsenal,” said Enrique. “On the cheap as well because he is a free agent in the summer.”
‘SCHOLES-LIKE’ TIELEMANS
A player of high technical ability, Tielemans would cook and produce in a possession-based team that likes to suffocate the opposition with the ball.
The 25-year-old has this great ability to thread that killer pass, and always find space on the pitch for himself, but most importantly, he scores some outstanding long-range goals.
A few half-volleys have already hit the back of the net from Tielemans this season, so much to the point that Jermain Defoe compared him to Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes.
