Argentine outlet El Crack Deportivo report that Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid are all considering moves to sign Tottenham star Rodrigo Bentancur after a wonderful first year in North London with Spurs.
Bentancur, 25, joined Tottenham in the January window for a bargain fee of just £15.8million – with £5million more in add-ons. He has gone on to be a mainstay in the Spurs side under Antonio Conte, clocking up 39 outings already.
Indeed, the midfielder has started to add goals to his game too – forming a brilliant partnership with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the middle. This season, he has five goals in 21 games – as well as laying on two assists for Conte’s side.
While Uruguay were knocked out of the World Cup at the group stage, Bentancur was one of his country’s best players. Now, unsurprisingly, Bentancur is attracting interest. El Crack Deportivo say Liverpool, United and Madrid are keen.

Liverpool and Manchester United considering Tottenham star Bentancur
Tottenham will be desperate not to lose the 54-time Uruguay international. They boast a contract with Bentancur until the summer of 2026, meaning Daniel Levy is under no pressure to sell. It would take a huge offer to land the maestro.
However, the ambition of Tottenham must remain aligned with Bentancur if they are to keep him. Of course, he will know that he is playing the best football of his life under Conte. If Conte does not sign a new deal, he could go.
A move to Madrid will certainly appeal to Bentancur, where he could play alongside Uruguay teammate Federico Valverde. Perhaps, the same at Liverpool with Darwin Nunez. A player, Dejan Kulusevski described as “underrated”.
Liverpool certainly need midfield additions, as do Real Madrid – with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos entering the latter stages of their careers. United are probably less in need, given the signing of Casemiro. One to keep an eye on.
