Back in 2020, Brazilian legend Kaka complimented Arsenal target Joao Felix by telling the Atletico Madrid forward that he has more skill than even he did.

Journalist Paul Brown told GiveMeSport that Mikel Arteta’s side were massive fans of the 23-year-old attacker.

In a latest report for the Athletic, David Ornstein also stated that Felix is one of the club’s primary January targets.

Currently, Arsenal are in desperate need of reinforcements up front, after Gabriel Jesus succumbed to a lengthy knee injury.

In the Brazilian’s absence, the club only have Eddie Nketiah’s services to call onto to pull the ball into the back of the net.

While the Hale End graduate is a natural finisher, he may come unstuck whilst leading the line for his boyhood club in a title race.

Ultimately, Nketiah has never found himself in such a challenging scenario in his career before.

As a result, it is no surprise to see the North Londoners be tempted by a move to sign as talented an all-round player as Felix, in the same mould as Jesus in that sense.

Kaka heaps high praise on Felix

Back in 2020, Kaka told Joao Felix in an interview for Adidas that the Atleti superstar possessed more skill than he did.

Initially, Felix told the former AC Milan icon, “I always used to watch you play because I thought our hairstyle looked alike, as well as our way of playing. I used to watch all your games on YouTube.”

The typically humble Kaka replied, “I think there’s this physical similarity but I think you have even more technical ability than I had.”

These words will be music to every Arsenal fan’s ears, if the club manage to secure the £86 million-rated (The Times) outcast’s signature in January.

To this day, Kaka is classed as one of the greatest midfielders to ever grace the game and for him to class Joao Felix as an even more technically gifted player than he was is high praise.
